Portraits

I always say – to myself and others – that making portraits is hard for me. What I find, though, is that once I ask the subject to pose, they freely collaborate with me to produce an image that conveys not only their likeness, but also some of their personality as well. Even though the time we spend is typically brief, the subject and I arrive at a mutually agreeable set of moments in which to make a photograph that pleases both of us.
