Six photographers. One week to slow down, look closely, and make pictures that matter. We photograph the streets, the light, the details that most people walk right past.
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to photograph Italy — this might be it.

Scicli, Sicily. In an area of Sicily with a tradit Scicli, Sicily. In an area of Sicily with a tradition of baroque ornament, Scicli is a standout. I explored and photographed all the angels and gargoyles, but I kept coming back to this place with the carefully sculpted wheel over the garage – a ceremonial flourish where none is required. It feels like a remnant of an older agreement between beauty and daily life.

Winter has me thinking forward – to spring worksho Winter has me thinking forward – to spring workshops, to Sorrento, to the languid calm of the Bay of Naples. The views, the air, the stillness of a cloister in the middle of the day. Some places warm you long before you arrive.

Snow and ice absorb and return the atmosphere around them. Light skims the surface, never staying long. #jeffcurtokeweenawphotoarchive #winter #snow #ice
Naples logic: a chair, a doorway, and a lifetime o Naples logic: a chair, a doorway, and a lifetime of objects. This man’s closet packed full of antiques is held together by humor, memory, and pure Neapolitan stubbornness. Open for business. Closed to compromise.

Rain changes Venice in a way nothing else does. Th Rain changes Venice in a way nothing else does. The light softens, the colors deepen, and the whole place seems to ease back a notch. The melancholy that settles in isn’t sadness so much as a kind of tenderness — a reminder that beauty doesn’t always need sunlight to make itself known.

Water has this way of changing everything it touch Water has this way of changing everything it touches. Sometimes it reveals details I’d otherwise miss; sometimes it hides them just enough to make the familiar feel a little mysterious.

Italian Yellows — Some colors seem to hold time it Italian Yellows — Some colors seem to hold time itself. These ochres and golds soak in the day, releasing warmth long after the light has moved on. I find myself tracing their edges, finding rhythm in the details: plaster and shadow, curve and crack, light and silence. Color becomes a form of memory, a way of remembering the sun.
