In Naples, Maradona never left. Gods fade on plast In Naples, Maradona never left. Gods fade on plaster walls, life moves past in motion blur, carrying red shopping bags and holding small hands. But Diego stays – watching over the alleys that made him immortal. I can’t wait to lead my Naples & Amalfi Coast workshop group through these fantastically textured streets in May. #jeffcurtoitalyphotoarchive #photographitaly #napoli #maradona #napolitana

Eight days in Cortona, with excursions through Chianti, Montepulciano, Arezzo, and Val d’Orcia. We’ll work with the quality of Italian light – how it moves across stone, how it defines form, how it changes the way you see.
This isn’t about technique alone. It’s about learning to be present with a camera, to recognize the moments that matter, to understand why certain light stops you in your tracks.
Small group. Daily shoots. Evening reviews. Time to work, time to see.

Scicli, Sicily. In an area of Sicily with a tradit Scicli, Sicily. In an area of Sicily with a tradition of baroque ornament, Scicli is a standout. I explored and photographed all the angels and gargoyles, but I kept coming back to this place with the carefully sculpted wheel over the garage – a ceremonial flourish where none is required. It feels like a remnant of an older agreement between beauty and daily life.

Winter has me thinking forward – to spring worksho Winter has me thinking forward – to spring workshops, to Sorrento, to the languid calm of the Bay of Naples. The views, the air, the stillness of a cloister in the middle of the day. Some places warm you long before you arrive.

Naples logic: a chair, a doorway, and a lifetime o Naples logic: a chair, a doorway, and a lifetime of objects. This man’s closet packed full of antiques is held together by humor, memory, and pure Neapolitan stubbornness. Open for business. Closed to compromise.

Rain changes Venice in a way nothing else does. Th Rain changes Venice in a way nothing else does. The light softens, the colors deepen, and the whole place seems to ease back a notch. The melancholy that settles in isn’t sadness so much as a kind of tenderness — a reminder that beauty doesn’t always need sunlight to make itself known.

Italian Yellows — Some colors seem to hold time it Italian Yellows — Some colors seem to hold time itself. These ochres and golds soak in the day, releasing warmth long after the light has moved on. I find myself tracing their edges, finding rhythm in the details: plaster and shadow, curve and crack, light and silence. Color becomes a form of memory, a way of remembering the sun.

Sicily Blues - There’s the blue of the sea, and th Sicily Blues - There’s the blue of the sea, and then there are the blues that become part of a place. Some days, everything seems to fall into rhythm — color, light, texture — and as I photograph, that harmony starts to hum a little louder.
